The following is a verbatim quote from Marshall Rottman's Facebook page in response to the event reported in the above article, and I fully concur with his awesome analysis and observation:
"......Kim Kardashian is going to talk about objectification.... presumably how it's wrong.... reality check woman: without "objectification of women in media" - YOU..... don't exist. No one would know who you are. Your only marketable skill - is looking pretty for cameras.
That is, has been, and continues to be: your entire "career."
It is the only thing you do. You don't do art, you don't act, you don't sing, you're not a grand master chess champion. You're -just- pleasant to look at. The only thing you do in life: is look good for the camera. Without objectification: no one would know you're name.
Objectification: has made you richer than anyone with zero talent and zero contributions to society: should be. Without objectification; you do not exist as a public figure. You've made MILLIONS from objectification, it is the tit your bank account has supped and suckled upon, hungrily, even greedily.
YOU contribute to the societal norm in which women are "objectified."
You are a monumental hypocrite, of such epic magnitude than you should have your own mammoth statue erected - depicting you curling one leg and both arms, around a giant fully erect phallus, and looking longingly into the distance as if being recorded by a camera crew. So that all the world could see: the only thing you did to become famous, and wealthy beyond reason: was "objectify" yourself, intentionally, for personal gain.
You are not the pot calling the kettle black: you are both the pot and the kettle, simultaneously.
You are the equivalent of a whore made rich by her less than reputable activities: who in public demonizes prostitution - whilst CONTINUING to practice and make money, WANTONLY, as a lady of the evening."
