Sweden is a good example of destroying the colonial argument and foreign policy argument put forward here. Indeed, Sweden has been one of the most liberal countries in welcoming Muslim immigrants and it now has some of the worst problems as a result. Furthermore, rightwing extremism is a result of liberal immigration and the proliferation of Islam in Sweden and most countries, and attracts mainly disaffected anti-establishment poor folks also victimised by the system so the argument suggesting Islamic extremism is a reaction to rightwing extremism is also flawed; I suspect like all extremist ideology, the Islamists and nationalists have a lot in common.
Islam preaches ideology as toxic as any other and attracts those easily led, wanting to belong and willing to kill in the name of their chosen identity.
